Congratulations on receiving an offer for a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide and a very warm welcome to Adelaide Law School. You should be very proud of your achievement and we are so excited for you to join us.

The Adelaide University Law Students’ Society (AULSS) is here to help you transition into law school and get the most out of your university experience. As a student enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide, you are automatically a member of the AULSS and can attend and participate in all AULSS events and initiatives.

For some students, starting law school can be an exciting time, and for others it can be a time of uncertainty. We know, because we’ve been in your shoes. Wherever you are in your academic journey, our Education Portfolio delivers a range of events dedicated to assisting you and to ensure you succeed in your first year at university. From our award winning mentorship program to exam and study tips sessions, we’ve got you covered.

First Year Mentorship Program

Our award winning mentorship program has helped hundreds of first year law students transition into their first year of law school. Our team will pair you with a law student in their third year or above, and you can meet regularly throughout the year to seek guidance, support and tips to help you succeed.

Meet Your Mentor Event

When you sign up to our First Year Mentorship Program, you are automatically invited to attend our Meet Your Mentor event. This event is an opportunity for you to meet your mentor and other first year students in a relaxed and safe environment. You will also meet members of the AULSS Education Portfolio and wider Committee.

Our First Year Guide is your ultimate handbook for navigating your first year at law school. It contains information about what you can expect during your first year of academic studies. We’ve also included tips, tricks and recommendations to make the most out of your university experience.

The AULSS provides a huge variety of opportunities to socialise and meet other law students, network with industry professionals, learn more about the legal profession, understand social justice and equity issues, participate in meaningful fundraising efforts, and to develop and practice your legal skills in competitions.

By attending our events, we’re certain you’ll make lifelong friends, be more prepared for the workforce and you’ll get the most out of your law school experience.
