Education
The AULSS is an important advocate for students in relation to all educational matters. In conjunction with the academic resources available at the Law School, the Education Portfolio provide additional educational resources born from student recommendations. All Law students are treated to seminars and workshops throughout the year, such as ‘Problem and Short Answer Questions 101’ and ‘Research and AGLC 101’.
We especially place a specific emphasis on First Year Students, ensuring they have a smooth transition into University life, and into the Law School. For this reason, this year we have also introduced the First Year Q&A Session and the First Year Mentorship Program, which are perfect for First Years to ask questions and get some great advice! During exam time, exam tips are provided at our ‘Exam Prep 101’ to ensure our students are the most prepared they can be when entering a stressful time. We strive to ensure that all students are able to thrive in Law School through all our resources!
Please email education@aulss.org if you have any questions or queries – no question is silly! We look forward to meeting you around campus and we wish you the best for your year!
Education Seminars
Good old IRAC will become your best friend in Law, but it can be tricky to use at times, and can be confusing to figure out how you can get the best marks. Short answer questions too are a little tricky at times, especially as many Law students have a tendency to describe things rather than intricately analyse. But not to worry, as the Education Portfolio has recorded their seminar early Semester 1 on how to answer a problem or short answer question, which you will hopefully find helpful!
Want to know how to best prepare for upcoming exams? Curious about exam structures and formatting? Interested in hearing tips and tricks from fellow students? Watch the recording of the Education Portfolio’s Exam Prep 101!
The Education Portfolio know how much of a struggle it can be to complete legal research, let alone then wade through the intricacies of the never-ending AGLC4. That is why they held a Legal Research and AGLC 101 in collaboration with the wonderful Law Library Liaison, Paula Everett and recorded it so you can refer back to it any time you are in a pickle!
